Bulgaria’s Ambassador to Germany, Grigor Porozhanov, and the Director of the Bulgarian Cultural Institute, Borislav Petranov, took part in the official opening of the Book Fair in Leipzig (March 19–22), where the country is represented with a national stand organized by the Ministry of Culture of Bulgaria.

Ambassador Porozhanov held a working meeting with the Director of the book fair, Astrid Böhmisch, to whom he expressed strong support for the proposal that Bulgaria participate as a partner country in the initiative in 2029. The German-language book market is becoming more accessible to Bulgarian authors, and this trend deserves to be further developed, the ambassador noted.

Bulgarian authors Justine Toms, Georgi Bardarov, and Rumyana Ebert, translator Elvira Bormann, publishers Petya Lund and Svetlozar Zhelev further strengthened Bulgaria’s presence in Leipzig through numerous meetings with visitors.
