Restrictions on the Struma Highway due to repairs

Traffic at Kapitan Andreevo border crossing in the direction of Turkey for trucks is intense, the Border Police has reported. On the borders with Greece, Serbia and North Macedonia, traffic is normal at all border crossings in all directions. Crossing the border with Romania is also normal. At Danube Bridge near Ruse traffic is in stages in one lane due to planned repairs.

From March 23 to 27, traffic will be temporarily restricted in sections of the Struma highway in the region of Kyustendil due to repairs to bridge joints and renovating markings. The repairs will be carried out during the day to ensure the safety of travellers and workers, the road agency announced. Five people died in 35 significant road accidents in the country during the weekend. 42 people were injured, the Road Police reported.
