Traffic is heavy at the Kapitan Andreevo and Lesovo border checkpoints for outbound freight vehicles heading toward Turkey, the Border Police reported. Traffic is normal at the borders with Greece, North Macedonia and Serbia. All border crossings to Romania are also open. Traffic over the Danube Bridge near Ruse is being carried out in a single lane due to scheduled major repairs.

The Road Infrastructure Agency has urged drivers to exercise increased caution and adjust their speed while traveling in the Blagoevgrad region on the Sofia–Kulata, Simitli–Bansko, Yakoruda–Razlog, and Blagoevgrad–Stanke Lisichkovo roads, due to maintenance of toll gantries. Road marking renewal works on the Struma motorway are also ongoing.

Eight serious road accidents occurred in the country over the past 24 hours, resulting in one fatality and 14 injuries, reported the Traffic Police.
