Forum on the Cyrillic alphabet to explore spiritual heritage in the digital age

The 3rd edition of the International Cyrillic Forum, initiated by Bulgarian President Iliana Iotova, will be dedicated to the theme “Spiritual Heritage in the Digital Age.”

The event will take place on March 25 and 26 in Sofia and at the Rila Monastery, under the auspices of Bulgaria’s National Commission for UNESCO, with the support of the Ministry of Education and Science and the Bulgarian Orthodox Church.

Topics such as the “alphabet wars” in the Slavic world and the role of the Cyrillic script, the language of the media, and the digitization of early printed editions in the 21st century will be among the issues discussed by prominent scholars from around the globe.
