Bulgaria and Germany discuss new investments in high technologies

The opportunities for attracting investments in high-tech sectors and for closer cooperation in the field of innovation were discussed by the Minister of Innovation and Growth, Irena Mladenova, and the German Ambassador to Bulgaria, Irene Planck.

During the meeting, Mladenova emphasized that Germany is Bulgaria’s leading foreign trade partner and that there is potential to expand cooperation in high technologies, startup companies, and artificial intelligence. She also presented the national interactive investment map of the Ministry of Innovation and Growth and the Bulgarian Investment Agency, which brings together information on business opportunities in one place.

Mladenova noted that German companies are among the largest investors in Bulgaria and pointed as an example a project by a German company that will open a new plant near Plovdiv to produce high-tech components for global aviation leaders. The investment is expected to reach €90 million.
