Over 50% of Bulgarian workers fear job losses due to robotization and
artificial intelligence (AI). This was stated by the president of
CITUB, Plamen Dimitrov, in an address to the conference “From
Social Dialogue to Action: Pathways to a Fair Digital and AI
Transition”.
Speaking at the
forum in Sofia, Dimitrov said that the transition requires
adoption of solutions that guarantee the security of workers, by
introducing the European AI Act. As important steps already taken for
a more humane and responsible regulation of AI in the workplace, he
pointed to the legislative change from 2024, which introduced the
right to exclusion from a digital work environment. According to him,
this also guarantees “protection from dehumanization” in the
workplace.
