Bulgaria’s Boyan Lefterov, aged 72, won the 3,000 metres title at the European Masters Indoor Athletics Championships in Torun, Poland.
He finished in 11 minutes 29.62 seconds, narrowly ahead of Ireland’s Brian Lynch, who placed second in 11:29.89, according to information published by the 5kmrun initiative on Facebook.
Lefterov has taken part in 222 runs organised by 5kmrun since 2016, with a personal best time of 17:41 set in 2019, the organisers added.
