One of the most significant Bulgarian footballers passed away.
Goalkeeper Borislav Mihaylov passed away after a battle for his life
for several months following a severe stroke. Less than 50 days ago,
the former president of the Bulgarian Football Union turned 63 while in a coma.
Mihaylov has 102
matches for the national team. He was elected Footballer No. 1 of the
country in 1986.
At club level, he
played for Levski, Belenenses, Mulhouse, Botev, Reading, Slavia and
Zurich. His father Biser Mihaylov was also a legendary goalkeeper for
Levski, and his son - Nikolay, is an active player.
