Labour costs in the European Union in 2025 amounted to an average of 34.9 euros per hour, while in the eurozone countries the average was 38.2 euros per hour. This is according to the latest data from Eurostat.

Labour costs were the lowest in Bulgaria - an average of 12 euros per hour, followed by Romania - 13.6 euros and Hungary - 15.2 euros. The highest labour costs in the EU were in Luxembourg - an average of 56.8 euros per hour. At the same time, the data show that hourly labour costs in Bulgaria recorded the largest growth last year - by 13.1%.
