The first edition of Sofia Smile Fest brings together the humor of Europe and the Balkans starting on April 1. The festival is dedicated to April Fool’s Day. The initiative is by the “Imeon-Balkans” Foundation and is carried out with the financial support of the Culture Program of the Sofia Municipality. It features a series of exhibitions and events dedicated to the art of caricature in some of the city’s key cultural venues. The program includes international exhibitions, themed displays, and interactive activities aimed at a broad audience.

On April 1 and 2, Slavyakov Square will host a poster exhibition. From 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., the square will transform into an open-air artistic stage. Bulgarian and international caricature artists will draw live, and residents and visitors of Sofia will be able to actively participate, meet the artists, and even become part of the exhibition with their smiling portraits. Visitors will also have the opportunity to participate in a Laughter Yoga session at the Sofia City Library.
