Livestock breeders are calling for a halt to the import of frozen meat and for stronger protection of Bulgarian production. The “United Bulgarian Livestock Breeders” association has urged people to buy lamb directly from farmers for Easter, reported BNR’s correspondent in Kardzhali, Valya Apostolova.
According to the association’s chairman, Boyko Sinapov, this is the only way consumers can be sure of the product’s quality.
“First, we must protect our Bulgarian production. We must protect our producers. And if there is a shortage, we should allow imports of quality products”, Boyko Sinapov commented.
