Border traffic is smooth, truck traffic to Turkey is intense

Truck traffic is intense at the “Kapitan Andreevo” border crossing, the Border Police reported. Traffic is normal on the country’s borders with Greece, North Macedonia, Serbia and Romania. Due to major planned repairs, crossing the Danube Bridge near Ruse is being carried out in stages in one lane.

In the first three months of 2026, 86 people died on the country’s roads. 1,538 people were injured in 1,231 serious accidents, the Ministry of Interior reported on its website. In March alone, 27 people died in 424 accidents and 529 were injured. There were no deaths in the last 24 hours, but 17 people were injured in 12 road accidents.
