Heavy rain alert issued for 19 districts in Western and Central Bulgaria

On Thursday, the lowest temperatures will range between 4°C and 9°C, around 4°C in Sofia. It will be cloudy across the country. Many areas will see rainfall, heavier in Southern Bulgaria and in the mountains. Winds will be moderate, at times strong, coming from the east-northeast, and in the afternoon shifting to southerly in the central southern regions. Maximum temperatures will range between 7°C and 12°C, around 7°C in the capital city.
Along the Black Sea coast, it will be cloudy with rainfall, heavier along the southern coastline. There will be a moderate to temporarily strong northeasterly wind. Daytime highs will be between 9°C and 10°C. The seawater temperature is 8°C-10°C. Sea state around 3–4 on the Beaufort scale.
In the mountains, it will be cloudy with rainfall, heavier in the Rila-Rhodope region and the Balkan Mountains. Above 1,400–1,800 meters, the rain will turn into snow. There will be a strong south-southeasterly wind. The maximum temperature at an altitude of 1,200 meters will be around 2°C, at 2,000 meters about minus 2°C.
On Friday, it will remain cloudy with precipitation, though lighter and with longer dry intervals. The wind will weaken and later shift to the west-northwest. Daytime temperatures will rise, with highs between 12°C and 17°C.
