The Bulgarian Olympic Committee has nominated tennis player Ivan Ivanov for the Piotr Nurowski Awards, which are presented to the best young athletes from the European Olympic Committees.

At the end of 2025, Ivan Ivanov was ranked number one in the under-18 world rankings and named junior world champion by the International Tennis Federation (ITF). He is the first Bulgarian to finish the year as the No. 1 in the ITF junior rankings. Ivanov won junior singles titles at two Grand Slam tournaments: Wimbledon and the US Open. The talented player was also named Bulgaria’s best young athlete.

The most recent recipient of the prestigious EOC award in the winter edition was Malena Zamfirova. The snowboarder is the first Bulgarian woman to receive this honour.
