Talks with the tourism sector show a willingness to keep the prices of already agreed travel packages, provided there is no sharp increase in fuel and electricity costs. This was stated by the caretaker Minister of Tourism, Irena Georgieva, after a meeting with Bulgarian President Iliana Iotova.
Georgieva pointed out that fear of traveling to the Middle East region is causing some European tourists to shift toward destinations such as Portugal and Spain. Due to the geopolitical situation, Bulgaria has the opportunity to use the circumstances to its advantage if it manages to present itself as a safe and competitive tourist destination.
As key measures, the minister highlighted strengthening the country’s promotion in major markets and focusing on tourists who are not afraid to travel.
