Atazar — the creative alias of producer Atanas Zaykov — returns to one of his standout tracks, unveiling an Afro house reimagining of 'Amulet'. Rather than being a mere remix, this version feels like a natural evolution — an expansion of the song’s original soundscape into new rhythmic territory.
As with much of Atazar’s recent work, the track features Bulgarian ethnic motifs. Here, these motifs are brought into sharp focus by the distinctive folk vocals of Diyana Vasileva, a singer from the Graovo region, and the evocative sound of the gaida (Bulgarian bagpipe). These elements remain at the heart of the piece, now carried by a pulsating Afro house groove that adds movement without stripping away its mystique.
'Amulet' has already enjoyed significant success, having been released through one of the world's three largest music companies. As Atazar shares:
‘The track reached No. 1 in Cyprus’s Top 100, No. 9 in Russia’s Top 100 and No. 24 in Germany’s dance chart. After receiving countless messages asking why there wasn’t a remix, I decided to revisit it. Afro house is especially popular right now, and the Bulgarian vocals and gaida blend seamlessly with the style, adding an extra ethnic layer and a sense of mystery.”
In this new form, 'Amulet' doesn't just adapt — it deepens, threading its folkloric roots through a soundscape that resonates globally.
