A Bulgarian language classroom has opened at the Valentin Moshkov Lycée in Ceadîr-Lunga, Moldova. According to the Gagauzia education authorities, it is equipped with an interactive whiteboard, modern furnishings and teaching materials, providing a contemporary environment for language learning.
The aim is to support the study of Bulgarian and give students access to a modern, practical education. Officials added that the lycée offers opportunities to develop both native and foreign language skills.
The opening was attended by Dr Ivan Duminika of Moldova’s Ministry of Education and Research and Alexander Borimechkov of the Association for the Development of the Bulgarian Community in Moldova. Students demonstrated their skills in Russian, Gagauz, Bulgarian and Romanian.
The project is part of a Bulgarian Embassy initiative to establish similar classrooms in Moldova. Similar facilities already exist in Taraclia, Tvardița, Korten and Valea Perjei.
According to the embassy, the initiative supports the study of the Bulgarian language, history and culture while improving learning conditions and strengthening Bulgarian identity among young people.
Implemented by the Association for the Development of the Bulgarian Community in Moldova, the project is worth €17,900.
