Over 2,000 participants to run in the Sofia Half Marathon on April 5

More than 2,000 participants have signed up for the Sofia Half Marathon, which will take over the boulevards of Sofia on April 5 (Palm Sunday). The event aims to bring together thousands of sports enthusiasts.

The race is organized by the sports club Begach Sports Club in partnership with the Sofia Municipality. It will feature three certified courses approved by World Athletics - 5 km, 10 km, and 21.1 km - along with children’s races and a rich program promoting sport and an active lifestyle.

The start and finish area will be located at Alexander Nevsky Square, with races beginning at 9:00 a.m.

Due to the event, a temporary reorganization of traffic will be in place across the city between 9:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. on April 5, 2026.
