A monitoring mechanism for video surveillance at polling stations is planned for the April 19 elections, the Coordination Council for Election Preparation said.
It will be the first time a system is in place to verify whether mobile phones used for video surveillance are transmitting a signal during the ballot count and the completion of protocols. Periodic checks will be carried out, and if a problem is detected, district election commissions will be notified to take the necessary action.
