Already popular before taking part in the national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest, MONA is now among the most sought-after artists. The young singer writes and performs songs based on folk ornamentation, combined with melodic lines typical of pop music. The arrangements also feature elements reminiscent of film music. MONA blends multiple styles, which is why she has named her music “Gen Z folklore.”

Following the songs “Zhiva” (“Alive”) and “Sila” (“Strength”), she now presents the single “Davam” (“I Give”) – the final part of a conceptual trilogy. As with the previous two tracks, MONA wrote both the music and the lyrics. The arrangement is by Roberto Nikolov – Robi, with whom she shares similar views on how contemporary Bulgarian music should sound.

If we add the title of her latest single to those of her previous two songs, we read her message: “I GIVE ALIVE STRENGTH”. For her, creating music is much more than self-expression. MONA shares that while writing her songs, she comes up with the greatest ideas about who you are in this world:

“While I was writing ‘Sila’, I realized what mission I’ve come to this world with. And I realized how much I want to give love to every person I meet. When I sing the chorus, I imagine having a magic wand and enchanting you to be kind, to be happy, to have many beautiful things happen in your life—I truly believe in this kind of invocation. And through my music, I don’t want to invoke good things only for myself, but for others too, because whatever you sing is what becomes your reality'', said MONA.

MONA will share her message live on April 8, when she celebrates her 22nd birthday with a special concert at Sofia Live Club.

The video for “Davam”, available on Radio Bulgaria’s website, is directed by Victoria Karakoleva with cinematography by Teodor Fichev. One of the most impressive visual highlights are the eight-meter-long braids, crafted over the course of a week by Anastasia Dimitrova.

The video also features sign language interpretation—a concept that MONA consistently includes in every project. For her, music should be accessible to everyone, without exception, and this mission has become an integral part of her artistic identity.
