Traffic is normal at all border crossings with Türkiye, Greece, North Macedonia, Serbia and Romania, the Border Police reported. Traffic across the Danube Bridge near Ruse is running in stages in a single lane due to planned major repairs, which are expected to be completed before the start of the summer tourist season.

On Wednesday, April 8, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., traffic toward Kulata on the Struma motorway—from the Blagoevgrad South interchange to Simitli—will be temporarily restricted due to road marking works.

From April 8, the police are launching a road safety campaign during the Easter holidays.

In the past 24 hours, 14 serious accidents have occurred across the country, resulting in two fatalities and 17 injuries. Since the beginning of the month, there have been 97 major incidents, with 113 injuries and five fatalities. Since the start of the year, there have been 1,333 serious accidents, resulting in 94 fatalities and 1,654 injuries.
