On Thursday, the lows will be between 0 and 5°C, with 3°C in Sofia. There will be variable cloud cover across the country, often heavy, with rain in many areas. In the morning, the rain will temporarily turn to snow in some northern and mountainous regions. There will be almost no precipitation in the south-westernmost regions. The north-westerly wind will gradually weaken, though it will remain moderate across the Danube and Upper Thracian plains, as well as along the Struma and Mesta river basins. Highs will range from 10 to 15°C. In the capital, it will be around 11°C.
Along the Black Sea coast, it will be cloudy with showers. Maximum temperatures will range from 9 to 11°C. Sea water temperatures will be in the same range. Sea waves will reach around 2 on the Beaufort scale.
In the mountains, there will be significant cloud cover, bringing snowfall and rain below 1,000 metres. There will be a moderate to strong north-westerly wind. The maximum temperature at 1,200 metres above sea level will be around 2°C and at 2,000 metres it will be as low as -5°C.
On Friday, the weather will be changeable with a chance of precipitation. As temperatures drop in some parts of northern Bulgaria and the highlands, rain will briefly turn to snow. Minimum temperatures will be close to zero, while maximum temperatures will range between 7 and 12 °C.
