Patriarch Daniil: Let us wholeheartedly accept the Lord’s sacrifice

“Let us bow before the Cross on this day and wholeheartedly accept the sacrifice that the Lord made for us”, Patriarch Daniil told journalists before leading the service of the Royal Hours with the bringing out of the Holy Shroud at the Metropolitan Cathedral Church “St Nedelya” in Sofia.

Patriarch Daniil reminded the faithful that Good Friday is the saddest day in Christianity: “We humans, who sin every day, on this day did not hesitate to pass judgment on God and condemn the righteous one”, said Patriarch Daniil.

“The sacrifice of Christ is great and beyond human comprehension, and the way to accept it is through gratitude, overcoming malice, mistrust and hatred, and purifying our hearts”, Patriarch Daniil added, calling on the faithful to dedicate the day to prayer and gratitude, to set aside worldly concerns and passions, and to bow before the Cross.
