Bulgarian writer Georgi Gospodinov is taking part in literary events in Stockholm on April 10 and 11, 2026.

Gospodinov won the International Booker Prize in 2023 for his novel Time Shelter, becoming the first Bulgarian author to receive the award.

On April 10, he met readers at the historic Söderbokhandeln Hansson & Bruce bookstore, one of the Swedish capital’s established literary venues. The event focused on his novel Death and the Gardener, which explores themes of memory, loss and the transience of life.

On April 11 at 1600 local time, he will take part in a discussion at a literary forum at Kulturhuset Stadsteatern. The event, titled Memory, Time, Solace, will be held in English and will feature Swedish writer Jerker Virdborg.

Organisers noted that Gospodinov has built a wide readership in Sweden with his novels Time Shelter and Death and the Gardener.
