Spanish Kodro Magazine names Hristo Stoichkov Bulgaria’s No. 1 footballer

The Spanish publication Kodro Magazine ranked the top 50 greatest players in the history of Bulgarian football. At the top of the list is Ballon d’Or winner Hristo Stoichkov.

Second place goes to the PFC Levski Sofia legend Georgi Asparuhov, while third is former top scorer for PFC CSKA Sofia, FC Bayern Munich, Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester United, and AS Monaco - Dimitar Berbatov.

The top 10 is completed by Hristo Bonev, the legendary playmaker Krasimir Balakov, the hero from Parc des Princes Emil Kostadinov, “the magical striker” Petar Zhekov, Bulgaria’s record appearance holder Stiliyan Petrov, the “iron” Trifon Ivanov, and the renowned defender and strategist Dimitar Penev.
