The JEREMIE initiative of the EU in Bulgaria is an example of how public funds, used strategically and wisely, can create an entire ecosystem that did not exist before. This was stated by Marek Mora, Vice President of the European Investment Bank, at the forum in Sofia “JEREMIE Bulgaria: New Opportunities”. According to Mora, this is an achievement that Bulgaria should be proud of and a model that other European countries can follow.

Mora recalled that since 2010, through loans, equity participation and guarantees, the program has supported about 10,000 companies with a total of 1.5 billion euros. About 300 million euros have already returned into the system and can be reinvested.

In 2025, the Bulgarian government and the European Investment Fund signed an extension of the initiative until 2035.
