Three new metro stations are expected to open in July

Three metro stations on Line 3 of the Sofia Metro are 98% complete and expected to open in July.Sofia Mayor Vasil Terziev announced on Facebook.

Comprehensive testing of the metro line at the new stations on Gen. Vladimir Vazov Blvd. – "Georgi Asparuhov Stadium", "Vitinya" and "Gen. Vladimir Vazov" – is scheduled for completion in May.

The new section will provide residents of the Hadzhi Dimitar, Suhata Reka and Levski G neighbourhoods with faster and more convenient access to the city centre and the western district of Gorna Banya. Once the section along Gen. Vladimir Vazov Blvd. is complete, the total length of the Sofia Metro will be 55 km, comprising 50 stations. BNR's Radio Sofia reports that the number of metro users is expected to exceed 500,000 passengers per day.
