A new platform linking over 60 Bulgarian companies with jobseekers from outside the European Union has been launched, project lead Stanislav Chervenkov said, cited by the Bulgarian News Agency BTA.

The initiative, led by the Centre for Entrepreneurship and Executive Development-Bulgaria (CEED-Bulgaria) and funded by the European Commission’s Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund, aims to ease labour shortages in sectors such as tourism, agriculture and construction.

Chervenkov said visa processing remains slow in countries such as Pakistan, Uzbekistan and India due to high demand and limited administrative capacity at Bulgarian consular services, while recruitment from Moldova is faster under existing bilateral agreements.

He added that many applicants prefer manufacturing jobs to roles in services or trade due to language barriers.

The platform connects employers with candidates from Albania, Armenia, Ukraine, Moldova and Vietnam, offering real-time translation alongside communication in English and Russian.
