Bulgaria will receive funding to participate in eight joint European defence projects, according to data published today by the European Commission, BTA reported. A total of €1.07 billion has been allocated to 57 defence projects.

Bulgaria will participate in a cybersecurity project (€52 million), a project for dual-use orbital systems (€57 million) and a project to develop low-cost reconnaissance satellites (€65 million).

Bulgarian specialists will also contribute to projects for the evaluation of reconnaissance data using quantum technologies, naval projects, the further development of air combat systems, and the development of military training simulators using lasers and artificial intelligence.
