Traffic at the Kapitan Andreevo border crossing is heavy for trucks heading to Turkey, according to Bulgaria's Border Police. Traffic at other border crossings toward Greece, North Macedonia, Serbia, and Romania is normal.

At the Ruse-Giurgiu border crossing, repair works are ongoing on the Bulgarian section of the bridge, and traffic is being regulated in a single lane.

A planned rotation of personnel and military equipment from Poland, participating in the NATO mission in Kosovo (KFOR), will take place between April 16 and 22, 2026. Military convoys will pass through the country escorted by Military Police, and drivers must comply with their signals.

In the past 24 hours, 19 people were injured in 16 serious road accidents across the country. There were no fatalities, according to Traffic Police. Since the beginning of the month, 16 people have died in road accidents, and 105 since the start of the year - 12 more compared to the same period in 2025.
