The District Court in Haskovo has approved the extradition of U.S. citizen Nathan Daniel Limesand to the Czech Republic under a European Arrest Warrant. He is accused by Czech authorities of terrorism in connection with setting fire to a weapons factory in the city of Pardubice.

The court panel stated that the legal conditions for handing over the detainee to Czech authorities are met.

On April 8, the 26-year-old American signed a declaration consenting to voluntary extradition. According to procedure, the court granted him a three-day period for consideration before the case was reviewed. At the hearing on April 15, Limesand confirmed his consent to be extradited and justified his actions with pacifist and pro-Palestinian motives, reported the Bulgarian News Agency.

He had been placed in custody following a pre-trial detention measure. Limesand was arrested on April 3 at the Kapitan Andreevo border crossing while attempting to leave Bulgaria for Turkey.
