Producers Poli Angelova and Nikolay Todorov receive an award for the film Atlas of the Universe

The children’s film “Atlas of the Universe”, a co-production between Romania and Bulgaria, will take part in the 79th edition of the Cannes Film Festival in the Cannes Écrans Juniors 2026 section, according to the Bulgarian National Film Center.
The journey of the remarkable Atlas continues confidently after its premiere at the Berlin International Film Festival in February. The film has also won the award for Best Youth Film at the Sofia International Film Festival.
“Atlas of the Universe” follows the story of 10-year-old Filip, who accidentally buys two right shoes and must embark on a journey to find the missing left one. This leads him into an incredible world and unexpected lessons about himself and the world around him.
This is the first feature-length film for children directed by Paul Negoescu. He co-wrote the screenplay with Mihai Mincan..
