The strong participation of Bulgarian companies in the project for building units 7 and 8 at the Kozloduy NPP is key to the economic development of Northwestern Bulgaria, said Energy Minister Traycho Traykov at a meeting with South Korean Ambassador to Sofia Dong-bae Kim and the management of Hyundai Engineering and Construction.

Minister Traykov welcomed the commitment of the Korean side to outsource 30% of the activities to Bulgarian companies. The Korean side informed Traykov about the progress of the project and the need to extend the engineering contract, which expired on March 4 and was signed 2 years ago. We have traumatic experience from other similar projects, where endless extension and lack of control over the price led to failure, Traykov said and called for the new facilities at the Kozloduy NPP to be built at fixed prices.
