In 2025, the average annual total income per person in a household is 14,403 BGN and increases by 12.0% compared to 2024. For the last ten years (2016 - 2025), the average total income per person in a household has increased 2.8 times, according to NSI data.

In 2025, Bulgarian households spent 12,661 BGN on average per person, which is 8.1% more compared to 2024. For the period 2016 - 2025, household expenses increased 2.7 times.

The relative share of consumer spending in total household expenses decreases from 82.6% in 2016 to 80.4% in 2025. The relative share of food and non-alcoholic beverage expenditures in total spending in 2025 is 29.3%, which is 1.5 percentage points less than in 2016.
