Short showers with thunderstorms and warm weather expected on Monday

On Monday, an atmospheric disturbance will pass over the country. The day will start mostly sunny, but before noon cloud development will increase from west to east, forming cumulus and cumulonimbus clouds.

Around and after midday, short-term showers accompanied by thunderstorms are expected in some places. Hail is also possible.

Minimum temperatures will be between 5°C and 10°C, around 5°C in Sofia.

The wind will be light to moderate, initially from the south-southwest, turning to northwesterly around noon and strengthening, latest in Eastern Bulgaria.

Maximum temperatures will be between 19°C and 24°C, along the Black Sea coast between 15°C and 18°C, and around 20°C in Sofia.

In the mountains, clouds will develop. Around midday and in the afternoon, short showers are expected, with snow above 2,000 m. In some areas, mainly in the mountains of eastern Bulgaria, the precipitation will be accompanied by thunderstorms.

A moderate, and in the afternoon strong, west-northwesterly wind will blow. Maximum temperatures will be around 12°C at 1,200 m and around 4°C at 2,000 m.
