Georgi Kandev: 93 signals reported to the Interior Ministry on election day

A total of 93 reports and the initiation of 8 pre-trial proceedings is the current balance of the Ministry of Interior on election day, Chief Secretary Georgi Kandev announced during a live Facebook broadcast. Bulgarians are voting today in early parliamentary elections.

Georgi Kandev stated that 15,408 Interior Ministry officers are involved in securing polling stations. “On this day we will be on duty and will fight uncompromisingly against all violations and crimes,” he emphasized.

The Chief Secretary also reported an incident from yesterday in the village of Mikre in the Blagoevgrad Province. A man and a woman were detained after threatening witnesses in a pre-trial investigation related to vote-buying.

In the same region, a vehicle carrying a parliamentary candidate was reportedly boxed in by two jeeps, and the perpetrators were also arrested.
