Traffic is heavy at the border for freight vehicles heading toward Turkey

Traffic at the “Kapitan Andreevo” and “Lesovo” border checkpoints is extremely intense for freight vehicles traveling toward Turkey, the Border Police reported. Passage through all border points with Greece, North Macedonia, Serbia, and Romania is normal. At the Ruse-Giurgiu crossing, repair work is being carried out on the Bulgarian section of the Danube bridge, and traffic is being regulated in a single lane.

Over the past 24 hours, 21 people were injured in 16 serious traffic accidents across the country, according to the Traffic Police. Since the beginning of the month, there have been 256 accidents, resulting in 17 fatalities and 318 injuries.

Since the start of the year, there have been 1,498 serious road accidents, with 107 people killed and 1,864 injured. Compared to the same period in 2025, there have been 9 more road fatalities.
