BNB mints 5,000 coins marking the 150th anniversary of the April Uprising

Citizens lined up in front of the Bulgarian National Bank (BNB) to purchase the new collector’s coin dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the April Uprising, BTA reported.

Sales of the coin began on April 20 amid strong interest. By 9:00 a.m., more than 130 people had already registered in the queue at the main entrance to buy the silver coin.

“150 Years of the April Uprising” is part of the “Bulgarian Revival” series. It has a face value of 10 euros, and its issue price is 144 euros. The mintage of the commemorative coin is limited to just 5,000 pieces.

Following the country’s accession to the eurozone on January 1, 2026, this is the third collector’s coin issued by the BNB out of a total of five planned for the year.
