Bulgaria is expected to remain in last place in the EU in terms of GDP per capita in 2030, with the estimated value reaching around 28,000 euros.

In the global ranking, the country will be overtaken by Turkey, which ranks ahead of Bulgaria, Latvia and Greece.

The International Monetary Fund's forecasts show significant growth in GDP per capita in Europe by 2030, but without significant shifts in the ranking, especially when purchasing power is taken into account.

GDP per capita remains among the main indicators for comparing economies, but its increase does not necessarily mean an improvement in the position of a given country, since all economies develop in parallel, the World Economic Outlook report says, BTA reports.
