Radev's victory has been welcomed by President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen.

Congratulations to Rumen Radev on his victory in the parliamentary elections. Bulgaria is a proud member of the European family and plays an important role in tackling our common challenges. I look forward to working together, for the prosperity and security of Bulgaria and Europe, she wrote in X.

President of the European Council António Costa congratulated Rumen Radev on the Blue Sky social network for his outright victory in yesterday's parliamentary elections in Bulgaria.

"As conveyed in our phone call this morning, I look forward to working together with you in the #EUCO on our shared agenda for a prosperous, autonomous and secure Europe. I wish you all the best in your new function," Costa also wrote.

In a telephone conversation immediately after yesterday's parliamentary elections, Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić congratulated former Bulgarian President Rumen Radev on his election victory as head of "Progressive Bulgaria". This is clear from Vučić's Facebook profile.

"I am convinced that these results will be an opportunity to strengthen stability and progress, as well as to improve cooperation between Serbia and Bulgaria in the spirit of good neighbourly relations and common interests. Serbia remains committed to building partnership relations and regional stability", Vučić noted.

"Moscow positively perceives the statements of the future Prime Minister of Bulgaria Rumen Radev on the need for a pragmatic dialogue with Russia". This was what Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told journalists, quoted by TASS.
