A cold and rainy Wednesday

Wednesday will see lows of 4-9°C, with Sofia expecting 4°C. Rain and brief showers will develop during the day, with thundershowers in some areas. These will be most intense in the afternoon and evening. Light to moderate north-easterly winds will be felt throughout Bulgaria. Daytime highs will reach 10 to 15°C. In the capital, it will be between 11 and 13°C. In Sofia, the minimum temperature will be 4°C. There will be scattered rain and thunderstorms. The weather will be most intense in the afternoon in the east and south-east and in the evening in the north-west. Light to moderate north-easterly winds are expected in eastern Bulgaria. Highs will range from 10 to 15 °C. In the capital, it will be around 11 °C.

Along the Black Sea coast, it will be cloudy and rainy. Maximum temperatures will range from 12 to 13 °C. A light to moderate easterly wind is expected. Sea water temperatures will be around 12–13 °C. Sea waves will reach a height of 2 on the Beaufort scale.

Cumulus and cumulonimbus clouds will develop in the mountains. There will be brief, temporarily intense rain showers and thunderstorms in some areas. Above 1,200–1,400 metres, the rain will turn to snow. A moderate to strong northerly wind will blow, shifting to northwesterly in the highest areas. The maximum temperature at 1,200 metres above sea level will be around 4°C and around -1°C at 2,000 metres.

On Thursday, the wind will shift to the northwest and strengthen. Cloud cover will be variable and often significant, with light rain continuing to fall in isolated areas, mainly in the central and mountainous regions. Minimum temperatures will drop by a further 2–3°C, while daytime temperatures will rise slightly.
