Traffic for outbound freight vehicles is extremely heavy at the “Kapitan Andreevo” and “Lesovo” border checkpoints with Türkiye, the Border Police reported. Traffic is normal at the other border crossing points.

At the Bulgaria-Greece border, vehicles up to 3.5 tons can also pass through the crossings at “Rudozem”, “Zlatograd”, “Makaza” and “Ivaylovgrad.” Passenger cars, buses and freight vehicles can pass through the “Ilinden”, “Kulata” and “Kapitan Petko Voyvoda” crossings. At the “Ruse–Giurgiu” crossing on the border with Romania, repair works are underway on the Bulgarian section of the bridge. Traffic is being regulated.

The Directorate General Fire Safety and Civil Protection responded to 77 incident reports over the past 24 hours, the Ministry of Interior said. One person was injured, and 43 fires were extinguished. A total of 31 rescue and assistance operations were carried out.

Over the past 24 hours, eleven serious road accidents occurred, resulting in two fatalities and 21 injuries, said the Ministry of Interior. In Sofia, there were 33 minor traffic incidents. Since the beginning of 2026, there have been 1,542 accidents, with 1,928 injuries and 112 fatalities.
