Nature and cultural heritage are drawing visitors to the village of Buzovgrad (Kazanlak region), which is hosting the 13th edition of the Lilac Festival (on 25 and 26 April). The event is organized by the “Lyuben Karavelov 1921” community centre.
A hiking route titled “In the Footsteps of Krali Marko in Sredna Gora” will take place on the first day, with the support of the “Buzovo Kale” Tourist Society in Buzovgrad and the “Orlovo Gnezdo” Tourist Society in Kazanlak. Along the route, participants stop at the lilac site, where they learn about local beliefs and legends associated with it, according to the event’s official Facebook page.
A musical programme titled “Nature and Cultural Heritage” will take place on Sunday, 26 April, alongside a crafts and culinary bazaar held under the motto “Made by Hand.”
