127 road repair works are being carried out across the national road network

Traffic is heavy at the border checkpoints “Kapitan Andreevo” and “Lesovo” for freight vehicles heading to Türkiye, the Border Police reported. Traffic is normal at all other border crossings and checkpoints with Greece and North Macedonia.

At the Ruse–Giurgiu border crossing, repair works are being carried out on the Bulgarian section of the bridge, and traffic is regulated in a single lane. Traffic towards Serbia is normal. Roadworks are taking place at Kalotina on the entry and exit lanes on the Bulgarian side of the border checkpoint.

A total of 127 road repairs are currently underway across the country. Drivers are urged to exercise caution and follow traffic signs.

From April 24, traffic towards Kulata will be restricted in the Simitli–Kresna section near the small tunnel, with vehicles redirected via an alternative route.

Nine serious road accidents were registered in the country over the past 24 hours, resulting in 11 injuries and one fatality, the Traffic Police reported. Since the beginning of the month, 309 serious accidents have occurred, resulting in 22 fatalities and 394 injuries.

In the past 24 hours, 60 fires were extinguished nationwide, the Directorate General Fire Safety and Civil Protection reported.
