Construction of railway link from North Macedonia to Bulgaria to begin in summer

Construction work on the section from Kriva Palanka to the tunnel between Bulgaria and North Macedonia, part of the railway line of Corridor No. 8, is expected to begin in the summer. Within the next ten days, a public tender for selecting a contractor is expected to be announced, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport of the Republic of North Macedonia Aleksandar Nikoloski told journalists, as reported by BTA.
A working meeting was held in Skopje on Friday with representatives of the European Commission and the EU Delegation in Skopje, focusing on the progress and plans for implementing projects along the Pan-European Transport Corridor No. 8, which connects the Adriatic and Black Seas through Albania, North Macedonia, and Bulgaria.
