Heavy truck traffic at “Kapitan Andreevo” and “Lesovo” border checkpoints

Traffic at the “Kapitan Andreevo” and “Lesovo” border checkpoints is extremely heavy for outbound freight vehicles, the Border Police reported.

At the border with Romania, traffic is normal at all crossing points. At the Ruse–Giurgiu bridge, repair works are underway on the Bulgarian section, and traffic is regulated in a single lane. Traffic is normal at all border crossings with Greece, North Macedonia and Serbia.

Forty people were injured in the last 24 hours in 30 serious road accidents. Since the beginning of the month, there have been 412 major incidents, resulting in 28 fatalities and 520 injuries. Since the beginning of 2026, there have been 1,654 accidents, with 119 fatalities and 2,065 injuries.

Seventy-three fires were extinguished across the country over the past 24 hours, the Directorate General Fire Safety and Civil Protection reported.
