The National Gallery in Sofia (1 Knyaz Alexander I Square, Sofia) will open the exhibition "Journey to the Image" with works by Lika Yanko (1928–2001) on April 29 at 6:00 p.m. Lika Yanko was born in Sofia as Evangeliya Grabova, but has Albanian roots. Her father Lazar Yankov Grabova was the chairman of the Union of the Albanian Cultural Associations in Bulgaria.

The direction of her work is determined by her travels in the Rhodope Mountains and Sozopol, where she mainly painted landscapes. The National Gallery owns one of the largest and most representative collections of the artist's works thanks to the donation gesture she made during her lifetime, the cultural institution reports on its website. After two large-scale exhibitions in 2002 and 2011, the current exhibition focuses on her early work. The exhibition can be seen until September 5.
