Cold front with precipitation and lower temperatures expected on Thursday
Orange and yellow warnings for hazardous precipitation have been issued in 18 regions of Western and Central Bulgaria.

On Thursday, minimum temperatures in Bulgaria will be between 5°C and 10°C. In Sofia, around 7°C is expected. It will be cloudy during the day with widespread rainfall; in some places in Southwestern Bulgaria, the Rila-Rhodope region, and the Fore-Balkan, precipitation amounts will be significant. In the mountainous areas, precipitation will be in the form of snow. A moderate wind will blow, temporarily strong from the northeast in the Danubian Plain and Eastern Bulgaria.
Maximum temperatures will range from 16°C to 18°C in Southern Bulgaria and up to 8-10°C, with little daytime variation, in Northern Bulgaria. In the capital, temperatures will be around 9°C.
Along the Black Sea coast, it will be cloudy with rainfall. A moderate to strong east-northeasterly wind will blow. Maximum temperatures will be between 9°C and 13°C, with little daytime variation. Sea water temperature is around 12-13°C. Sea state will be 2–3 on the Beaufort scale.
In the mountains, it will be cloudy, windy, and with snowfall; below about 1,700 meters, precipitation will be rain. In the Central Balkan and the Rila-Rhodope massif, precipitation amounts will be significant and a snow cover will form. A moderate to strong east-northeast wind will bring in cold air. By evening, the snow line will drop to around 1000 meters above sea level. The maximum temperature at 1,200 meters will be about 5°C, and at 2,000 meters around -1°C.
On Friday (May 1), there will still be considerable cloudiness and precipitation, but weaker and in fewer places. The wind will remain from the north but will weaken. It will be cool for early May, with minimum temperatures between 2°C and 7°C and maximum temperatures between 10°C and 15°C.
