Bulgarians in Los Angeles celebrate St. George’s Day

Bulgarians in Los Angeles marked St. George’s Day with a traditional gathering organized by BACES - the Bulgarian American Cultural Educational Society of California. This was announced on Facebook by the Consulate General of Bulgaria in Los Angeles. The celebration featured a lively atmosphere with Bulgarian music, songs, and traditional dances, bringing together dozens of compatriots and friends of Bulgarian culture.
The rich program included inspiring performances by the Bulgarian School “St. St. Cyril and Methodius” in Los Angeles, the dance ensemble XoroTroptzi, as well as talented Bulgarian artists.
Special guests at the event were the beloved Tsvetanka and Ivan Varimezovi, whose performances got the audience singing and joining in traditional horo dances.

The Consul General of Bulgaria in Los Angeles, Boyko Hristov, greeted the Bulgarian community on the occasion of the holiday and expressed special thanks to BACES and the Bulgarian Education and Culture Society “Pchela” for their dedicated work and initiatives that unite and strengthen the Bulgarian community in the City of Angels.
The holiday will be celebrated once again at the Bulgarian Eastern Orthodox Church "St. George" next Sunday, May 10, at 11:00 a.m.
“We look forward to being together again,” the Consulate General noted.
