Progressive
Bulgaria party, which won the elections, will not support the bills
to remove the security guards of GERB leader Boyko Borissov and DPS
chairman Delyan Peevski, it became clear from the declaration read in
the plenary hall.
“The
time when the Constitution was changed to harm a certain politician
is gone. There is a procedure in the state according to which the
security guards of endangered persons are appointed or removed, and
we will not adopt laws concerning one or two people, even if these two until
recently thought of themselves as omnipotent and forced the
institutions to fulfil their personal wishes,” said Anton Kutev.
The
declaration points out that removing the security guards is the duty
of legitimate state bodies. “We, through our political will and
wisdom, will force these bodies to work solely in the interest of
citizens,” the MP added.
The
parliament rejected the proposal of “Democratic Bulgaria” to
establish a temporary inquiry commission to establish the facts
surrounding discrepancies in the declared property status of
Delyan Peevski. This also happened with the proposal of DPS for a
commission to investigate unregulated influence of the “Capital”
circle and publisher Ivo Prokopiev. The decisions were reached after
129 MPs from “Progressive Bulgaria” abstained, BNR reporter Maria
Fileva informed.
